He saved the Marvel Multiverse last summer, but Deadpool just might become an Avenger before 2026 wraps up.

Ryan Reynolds sent fans on social media into a Wolverine-esque frenzy this week when he posted a cryptic image of the Avengers logo with an anarchic red “A” scrawled on top of it. The image had no caption, but the message was clear: The Merc with a Mouth isn’t done with the MCU, and he will likely appear in Avengers: Doomsday.

Deadpool & Wolverine pulled in more than $1 billion during its theatrical run last year – a feat Marvel Studios did not replicate in 2025 with three cinematic films released thus far – so it makes sense to add an immensely popular character to next year’s mega team-up flick. But, let’s be real … was there anyone that didn’t already assume Deadpool would saunter into the fray somehow?

Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters Dec. 18, 2026.
