I admit it. I’ve been insufferable about Superman this summer. I’ve shoehorned the movie into countless conversations in recent weeks (sorry, not sorry) and just when I thought I was done yapping about The Man of Steel’s soaring return to cinema, director and DC Studios co-head James Gunn revealed that David Corenswet’s Superman and Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor would be returning in Man of Tomorrow, a follow-up film hitting theaters July 9, 2027.

But is the movie’s title referring to The Big Blue Boy Scout or to Lex? The image Gunn shared on social media to make the announcement hints at some form of cooperation between Supes and his arch-nemesis, so this could very well be some kind of team-up flick as opposed to a straight-up Superman sequel. No matter what it is, I’m here for it.
