Despite positive reviews, The Fantastic Four: First Steps suffered a 66% drop in its second weekend, resulting in much doom and gloom on social media regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Countering this cosmic storm of negativity has been a series of updates on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, including a first look at Tom Holland’s new Spidey suit, some on-set sneak peeks and confirmation that Mark Ruffalo will be officially joining the cast as Bruce Banner/The Hulk alongside Michael Mando as The Scorpion and Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) will also join the cast, but her role has yet to be revealed.

In a teaser clip shared on social media August 2, an unmasked Holland walks on set in his new Spider-Man suit – which includes raised webbing and a larger logo – effectively announcing that filming has begun.

Holland himself also shared a pair of on-set photos, confirming that that The Web-Slinger’s “Brand New Day” is imminent. In fact, it’s coming in less than a year on July 31, 2026!
